Glen R. Zaugg MBA
Glen brings more than 40 years of executive leadership and hands-on business experience across a wide range of industries, including accounting and taxation, nonprofit organizations, oilfield services, ski resort operations, and behavioral health treatment programs. As a seasoned C-level executive, he leverages this diverse background to help business owners establish sound accounting systems, develop effective financial reporting structures, and implement operational processes that support long-term growth and success.
In addition to his accounting and business expertise, Glen is a licensed Utah Insurance Producer, enabling him to assist clients with life insurance and annuity solutions as part of a comprehensive financial planning approach. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, a Master of Business Administration degree, Series 6 and Series 63 securities licenses, and a Utah Insurance Producer License.
Glen has a longstanding commitment to community service and professional leadership. He is a Past President and Board Member of the Provo Rotary Club, a Past President and Board Member of the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs, and has served as President and Governing Board Member of a local nonprofit organization.
In 2019, Glen and his business partner, Jared, acquired MainStreet Tax & Accounting and have continued to expand the firm's commitment to providing exceptional tax, accounting, and tax advisory services. Glen has been a Utah resident for more that 45 years and resides in Lehi with his wife and enjoys spending time with his 13 grandchildren.
Jared Thornock MBA
In 2008, Jared joined MainStreet Tax and Accounting as a Staff Tax Accountant, where his dedication to helping clients optimize their tax strategies and business management quickly became apparent. He developed into the company's "go-to" expert for business and personal taxes, consistently finding innovative solutions to complex tax challenges. His commitment to client success led him to pursue and attain a Master of Business Administration from Utah State University. In 2019, Jared and his business partner, Glen Zaugg, acquired MainStreet, where he now serves as Vice President, continuing to provide personalized service and expert guidance to businesses and individuals.
Outside of work, Jared enjoys golfing, watching and participating in baseball, and coaching his sons' baseball teams.
Shawna Petersen CPPM
With more than 20 years of experience in payroll administration, bookkeeping, and accounting support, Shawna serves as our Payroll & Accounting Supervisor, bringing extensive expertise in Human Resources, Payroll Management, and Payroll Law. Her comprehensive understanding of payroll compliance, tax regulations, employee relations, and accounting procedures makes her an invaluable resource for both clients and team members.
As our resident payroll specialist, Shawna possesses a vast knowledge of payroll systems, standard payroll practices, procedures, and industry terminology. She is dedicated to ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in every aspect of payroll and accounting operations while helping businesses navigate the ever-changing landscape of employment and payroll regulations.
When she's not helping clients achieve their financial and payroll goals, Shawna enjoys spending time outdoors camping, fishing, and hunting with her family. Above all, she cherishes time with her grandbabies and never misses an opportunity to create lasting memories with them.

With years of exceptional service already under her belt at our company, Kara is a truly dedicated professional. She was recently promoted from Administrative Assistant to Payroll & Accounting Specialist—a new role where her experience and sharp attention to detail truly shine. A natural communicator, she excels at building strong, trusted relationships that have made her a favorite among our clients. When she’s off the clock, Kara loves heading outdoors to explore and soak up the natural beauty of Utah.
Ashley Foreman
Keith Larsen
Keith Larsen is one of our resident experts in tax and accounting, bringing more than 23 years of experience in the financial industry. A graduate of Brigham Young University with a degree in Accounting, Keith built a strong foundation in both corporate finance and public accounting. He served as Vice President of Overhead Construction and later Controller for X-L Cable Corporation, a telecommunications construction company based in Seattle, while also working alongside his father, Lawrence B. Larsen, in his CPA practice. In 2005, Keith partnered with his father and brother, David, to establish MainStreet Financial Services, which later became MainStreet Tax & Accounting. Beyond public accounting, Keith has been involved in several successful business ventures, including Workforce Solutions LLC, Prestige Energy Solutions LLC, and LLB Investments LLC, providing him with valuable firsthand experience in business operations, management, and financial strategy.
Keith’s broad business background allows him to offer practical, results-oriented guidance to clients while maintaining a strong commitment to communication and personalized service. He takes pride in helping individuals and businesses achieve financial stability and growth, working closely with clients to understand their unique needs and develop effective solutions. Following the successful sale of MainStreet Tax & Accounting in 2019, Keith has continued to serve clients as an independent contractor, providing the same trusted expertise and dedication that have defined his career. Outside of work, Keith enjoys spending time with his wife, Sheri, their four children, and grandchildren. Whether boating, wake surfing, camping, hunting, fishing, traveling, or enjoying the outdoors, he values family above all else and believes that life’s greatest experiences are those shared with loved ones.
David Larsen
Son of MainStreet founder Lawrence B. Larsen, David joined forces with his father in 2005, bringing his own impressive track record in entrepreneurship and finance to the company. David's years of international tax and accounting experience, honed through owning and operating manufacturing businesses in Guatemala and Mexico, provide him with a deep understanding of complexities of both business and personal taxation. Since the company's successful sale in 2019, David has continued to contribute his expertise as an independent contractor for MainStreet.
